¿What is REEM?

The Spanish Network on Multiple Sclerosis (Red Española de Esclerosis Múltiple - REEM) is composed by a group of basic and clinic researchers and MD doctors of Spain interested in researching on the causes of Multiple Sclerosis and develop new diagnostic methods and treatments.

REEM is one of the Tematic Networks of Cooperative Investigation founded by the Healh Institute Carlos III from the Ministry of Research, Science and Innovation.

 

¿Which are our objectives?

Our goal is to promote the research on Multiple Sclerosis and improve the knowledge on it's causes as well as the life quality of those who suffer this disease. Practically, our objectives are:

1). The development of a cooperative program of research on the causes (etiology), diagnose and treatment of Multiple Sclerosis.

2). To promote shared resources for the different centers and for the National Health System such as clinical databases and biobanks that allow researchers to carry scientific studies of great quality and relevance.

3). To form researchers in the knowledge of Multiple Sclerosis through courses, conferences and stages in other laboratories.

Through the association of the diverse results of our research, our main goal is to improve the treatment therapies and the life quality of the more of 2 million persons that suffer this disease worldwide.
