The macroprojects take advantadge of all the sinergic potential that REEM makes available to all the groups that constitute it, allowing the creation of pools of both data and patients that otherwise would be extremely hard to obtain.
Likewise, it is in the macroprojects where REEM exploits the deep advantadge of being composed of both clinical and basic groups.

Study of treatment response in Multiple Sclerosis
The response to treatment with immunomodulative drugs is highly variable from patient to patient. The purpose of this study is to identify clinical markers, both of imaging (via IRM) and biological (pharmacogenomics) that allow the identification of patients with good response to a treatment to keep them in such treatment and the patients with a bad response to try to find other succesful therapeutic strategies for them. This will mean an improvement of the life quality of patients and ensure a more rational use of therapies.

Study on Transverse Extense Mielitis
The identification of phenotipes of demielinizating diseases as optical neuromielitis is important for it can suppose a different prognosis and treatment. This study seeks to describe the phenotipe of extense mielitis both at the clinical, image and antobidy level, and value weather it's clinical course and response to treatment differs from the one of the optical neuromielitis and or those of Multiple Sclerosis.

Study on Oligoclonal Bands IgM & IgG
The development of biomarkers that predict the clinical course of Multiple Sclerosis is of great importance in order to take adequate decisions for a patient. The determination of oligoclonal bands of IgM has been associated wiht a more aggresive type of MS. The objective of the study is to validate such statement and evaluate if the determination of IgM oligoclonal bands is useful in the clinical praxis to establish and accurate prognosis on MS.

Fractal dimension analisis in IRM
The cerebral IRM is an excellent tool for the diagnosis of MS, but it's usefulness to evaluate the progression and the degenerative factor of the disease is quite limited. The determination of the fractal dimension of both the white and grey matter of the brain in magnetic resonance allows to obtain improved information on the structural non visible damage of the nervous system. The purpose of this study is to validate the analisis of the fractal dimension in cerebral IRM as a technique that allows the identification of damage in the nervous system in cases of Multiple Sclerosis.

Genetic study on patients with MS that present hipersensitive reactions associated to the treatment with natalizumab
The purpose of this study is to identify the genetic component laying under the hipersensitive reactions that are produced in relation to the administration of natalizumab to patients.
In a first stage, the DNA of 10-15 well characterized patients that present hipersensitive reactions will be retrieved, and they will be genotiped.
