REEM is one of the Tematic Networks of Cooperative Investigation founded by the Healh Institute Carlos III from the Ministry of Research, Science and Innovation.

 

REEM's structure disposes of a coordinator (Pablo Villoslada, IDIBAPS), who is supported by a management team (Manager: Juan Alejandro Virgili; Assistant: Berta Alcahud) and an executive comitee.

 

 

The executive comitee is composed by the coordinator, 4 researchers that direct lines of research (Carmen Guaza, Xavier Montalbán, Antonio Alcami y Luisa Villar) and the Manager as a consultant member without vote. The executive comitee takes the necessary administrative decissions between the assembly meetings of the network. This assembly meetings decides the research lines to develop and work in. The health Institute Carlos III (ISCIII) founds REEM through it's RETICS program.

The research lines were approved by ISCIII in 2007, comprehended inside the Strategic Plan of the network, and their development is in charge of each group who, autonomously, decides their participation in one or another line and proposes individual or collaborative projects. The coordination of the network is in charge of organizing the periodic meetings, host the REEM website, and spread any relevant information between the members of the network and the society. The external comitee takes charge of assesing the groups of the network in the adequate development of the research lines.

Anually, the coordination of REEM and each group make a scientific and an economic memory which are remitted to the ISCIII for their evaluation. The results of the research (articles, conferences, patents, etc.) are realized individually by each group, stating in the founding support of ISCIII.
